Mr. Ronald Gabriel is the Governor of the Central Bank of Haiti where he has been providing his service for more than 35 years. He is also a PhD candidate in Economic Science.
Gabriel holds a master's degree in economics from Université de Montréal. He is a member of the Executive Board of Haiti’s Central Bank – Banque de la République d’Haïti (BRH) -, where he has been working for more than 25 years.
As the chief economist of the BRH for more than 12 years, he has accumulated experience in macro-economic analysis, monetary policy and public finances. In 2014, he was appointed coordinator of the Monetary Policy Committee. His position at the IMF in Washington, D.C., includes the tasks of adviser to the Executive Director for Brazil, and consultant for numerous other national and international organizations.
Mr. Gabriel has lectured on economics at various universities, associations and technical centers in Haiti. He is fluent in French, Haitian Creole and English. He is also proficient in Spanish.
